The Girls on the Run group at Rockfish River Elementary School has been working hard on this semester’s community service project.  For this spring’s project, the group of 16 girls, three coaches and countless volunteers decided to hold a canned food drive at Rockfish River Elementary School with a goal of 500 canned/non-perishable food items by March 23rd.  The wonderful and very generous families of Rockfish River Elementary School answered the call to help the girls not only reach their goal, but surpass it by 120 items.  The girls completed the final count on the afternoon of March 24th and the food was delivered to the Nelson County Pantry that afternoon.  The Girls on the Run girls are very proud of their hard work but are most proud of being able to help our local community.
